Prevents the Apostrophe and Slash keys from opening the QuickFind bar.
Compatibility

Works with: Firefox 3.6+
Background
In theory, the Quick Find bar should not activate when pressing the apostrophe (’) and slash (/) keys when you are in a text-box. However, many users have reported that the Quick Find bar does activate when pressing the apostrophe (’) and slash (/) keys even if they are in a text-box.
The Tweak
The SearchHotKeys extension will disable the apostrophe (’) and slash (/) keys from invoking the quick find bar. The quick find bar may still be invoked via CTRL+F.
- Go to Nic-Nac-Project
- Right-click and select ‘Save Link As…’ on for Firefox 3.0 - 9
- Make a note where you are saving the extension (hint: save to desktop)
- Open the add-ons manager via Tools, Add-ons
- Locate the file you downloaded in Step 3 and drag into the Add-ons Manager window to install
- Restart Firefox
Note: This tweak is currently ‘Under Review’ for Firefox 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 as the extension required for this tweak has not had the compatibility updated for Firefox 5.0, or newer. Testing by means of bypassing extension compatibility checking shows this tweak will work once the add-on developer updates the add-on to support the newer Firefox versions.
