Background
By default the search box is located just to right of the address bar on the navigation toolbar.
The Tweak
Moving or even removing the Search Box is simple. This tweak requires no changes to about:config or userContent.css.
Move Search Box to another location
Right-Click on an empty area on any toolbar and select Customize… from the context menu. Using the mouse, grab hold of the Search Box then drag and drop to the desired location
Removing Search Box
Right-Click on an empty area on any toolbar and select Customize… from the context menu. Using the mouse, grab hold of the Search Box then drag and drop into the Customize Toolbar window. Note: To replace the search box, locate the search box (may be at the bottom) in the Customize Toolbar window then drag and drop to the desired location.
