What Are Themes?

From the Firefox Update Themes Page:

“Themes are skins for Firefox. They allow you to change the look and feel of the user interface and personalize it to your tastes. A theme can simply change the colors of Firefox or it can change every piece of its appearance.”

How Do I Install A Theme?

Browse the large selection of themes available for Firefox and when you find a theme you like follow the instructions on the page to download and install.

  • A theme is not fully installed and will not function until you have shut down and restarted Firefox
  • While there is no known limit to how many themes you can have installed, you can only use one theme at a time (see below for switching themes)
  • If you are getting the message: “Software Installation is Currently Disabled. Click Edit Options…to enable it and try again” when trying to install Extensions or Themes, see Troubleshooting Add-ons Installation section below.
